About this scholarship
Entering first-time freshmen and transfer students at Texas Tech University who demonstrate exceptional academic ability through qualifying SAT or ACT scores and unweighted GPAs receive automatic Presidential Merit Scholarships.
Annual awards range from $1,000 to $9,000, paid half in the fall and half in the spring. Non-residents awarded a Presidential Scholarship also qualify for in-state tuition.
Apply for admission by the December 1 priority deadline. No separate scholarship application is required. Renewal requires at least a 3.0 GPA and 30 credit hours at Texas Tech.
