Tennessee residents with intellectual disabilities who complete high school under an Individualized Education Program and enroll in an eligible Comprehensive Transition and Postsecondary Program within 16 months may receive STEP UP awards matching HOPE Scholarship amounts.
At four-year schools, freshmen and sophomores receive up to $2,250 per full-time semester and juniors and seniors up to $2,850. At two-year institutions, awards are up to $1,600 per semester.
Submit the STEP UP application and FAFSA by September 1 for fall, March 1 for spring, or May 1 for summer. Total financial aid including STEP UP cannot exceed the institution's cost of education.
