About this scholarship

U.S. and foreign high school and college students who are not TechWaste employees or their relatives may submit an original essay or video for the Future Innovators Scholarship.

One $1,000 award is paid to the winner's school. Essays should be 700 to 2,000 words; videos should run 1 to 5 minutes.

Address the theme of how you make an impact in your community with e-waste recycling. Submit your essay or video to the email address listed on the sponsor website. TechWaste Recycling Inc. runs this program to increase awareness about electronics recycling.

  • Essay must be posted online publicly (e.g. WordPress, Medium, school website) and must mention TechWaste Recycling with a link to https://www.techwasterecycling.com/scholarship at the conclusion
  • Video alternative allowed instead of essay: 1-5 minute original video posted publicly (e.g. YouTube), with description mentioning TechWaste Recycling and a link
  • Eligibility: high school or college students, any major; U.S. citizens or foreign citizens legally residing in the U.S.; not employees/family of TechWaste Recycling
  • Submission also includes a CV/cover statement, letter of motivation, personal financial statement, and full contact details
  • No GPA, transcript, exam, or interview required
  • Award: $1,000 (one scholarship), paid to the winner's school
  • Applications reopen August 1st annually
  • Essay option: 700 to 2,000 words, posted publicly and concluding with a mention and link to TechWaste Recycling.
  • Video option: original 1- to 5-minute public video with a description mentioning and linking to TechWaste Recycling.
  • Address e-waste recycling impact in the applicant's community.
