Tanabe Thorne Scholarship in Opera

Graduate or undergraduate UBC School of Music students in the Voice and Opera Division may be nominated, with preference for a singer in the UBC Opera Ensemble.

The scholarship provides $2,500. It is offered by Mr. Takao Tanabe. Established by Takao Tanabe, one of Canada's most influential painters, and Anona Thorne, the scholarship honours the couple's love of opera and their commitment to fostering the next generation of artistic talent.

Recipients are selected on the recommendation of the School of Music. There is no separate student application.
