About this scholarship
Open to an outstanding UBC Vancouver Bachelor of Fine Arts student majoring in Visual Art who has completed a 300-level intermediate painting course.
Two scholarships of $1,250 each are offered annually by Takao Tanabe C.M., O.B.C., and Anona Thorne (B.A. 1991, M.Sc. 1993). The scholarship is made on the recommendation of the Department of Art History, Visual Art and Theory. There is no separate student application.
Takao Tanabe is one of Canada's most influential painters and received the Audain Prize for Lifetime Achievement in Visual Arts in 2013.
