About this scholarship

UBC graduate students doing work in Polish studies may receive this prize. If there is no graduate candidate, it may go to the most deserving undergraduate student of Polish language, literature, or history who will proceed to third- or fourth-year courses in the field.

The prize is $1,300. It is awarded on the recommendation of the Department of Central, Eastern and Northern European Studies. No separate application is required.

The prize is a memorial to Tadeusz Halpert-Scanderbeg, a long-time professor of Polish language and literature at UBC.
