About this scholarship

Women enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering or science program applicable to tribology who are pursuing a career in the field may apply to this international essay contest.

One recipient receives $5,000. The winning essay is published in Tribology & Lubrication Technology magazine and the recipient is recognized at the STLE Annual Meeting.

Submit an essay, a faculty recommendation letter, and a completed application by December 1. Students who have won the Klaus award are ineligible; prior Booser award recipients may apply if their research topic differs. The scholarship honors Jeanie S. McCoy, a pioneering woman scientist in tribology.
