Outstanding UBC Vancouver graduate students in the Faculty of Land and Food Systems whose theses focus on sustainable poultry production or marketing, or sustainable animal production or marketing, may be considered for this scholarship.
The scholarship provides $2,000 annually, funded through gifts from family and friends in memory of Stewart Paulson (1945-2020).
Recipients are recommended by the Faculty of Land and Food Systems in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. There is no separate student application.
Stewart (B.Sc. (Agr) 1968, M.Sc. 1970) began his career at the Poultry Division of the Department of Agriculture in Ottawa. He later joined the BC Ministry of Agriculture as a Poultry Industry Specialist and played an integral role in establishing the BC Sustainable Poultry Farming Group and the UBC Specialty Birds Research Fund.
