About this scholarship
The South Plains STEM Scholars program at Texas Tech University provides up to $5,000 per year in tuition assistance to approximately 40 undergraduates from rural communities in the Southern High and Rolling Plains of Texas, eastern New Mexico, and southern Oklahoma. Scholars pursue degrees in biology, chemistry, geosciences, physics, or mathematics while participating in faculty mentorship, rural-focused research, monthly seminars, and service-learning projects. Awards continue up to four years when students remain full-time, in good standing, and active in program requirements. Applications open through the program's contact form with awards announced by late May before Red Raider Orientation.
