About this scholarship
A Nipissing University final-year full-time History major who plans to pursue a Bachelor of Education the following year (at Nipissing or elsewhere) may receive the Smith Award. One $2,625 award. The recipient must show enthusiasm for history inside and outside the classroom, demonstrate financial need, and be an Ontario resident as defined by OSAP. Faculty nominate; no student application.
Established to honour Janet Morton and her parents, Bill and Helen Smith, and to encourage outstanding future history teachers.
