About this scholarship
The Sheila E. McFarland Memorial Scholarship supports elementary education undergraduate students from Iowa in the University of Iowa College of Education. Established by Joseph and Rosalie McFarland in memory of their daughter Sheila Eileen McFarland, a 1973 UI graduate, the award is part of the college's portfolio of more than seventy privately supported scholarship funds. Students apply through the Iowa Scholarship Portal; one application covers all eligible college awards. New undergraduates should meet the January 31 priority deadline so awards can appear in the mid-February financial aid package. Recipients must be admitted to or enrolled in the College of Education and in good academic standing when funds disburse.
