SCPA Foundation Mundy Scholarship

The Mundy Scholarship is the South Carolina Press Association Foundation's premier student award, named for the foundation's first president, Frank R. Mundy of the Greenwood Index-Journal. It provides $1,000 per academic year, paid in two $500 installments across the fall and spring semesters, to a South Carolina college student interested in pursuing a newspaper career.

The scholarship is open to student journalists who attend a four-year college in South Carolina, or who reside in South Carolina and attend a four-year college elsewhere. Rising juniors and seniors are eligible to apply.

Applications for the 2027 award become available in fall 2026 on the SCPA website and are due December 1, 2026, with the recipient notified in February 2027.
