SAO Predoctoral Fellowship

Graduate students enrolled in a Ph.D. program who have completed preliminary coursework and examinations may carry out thesis research in residence at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory under an SAO scientist while remaining enrolled at their home institution.

The stipend matches Harvard Astronomy Department support and is adjusted annually on July 1. Applicants must secure funding through their home institution or an SAO advisor.
