About this scholarship
The Ruth Murray Essay BA Thesis Prize awards $500 for the best University of Chicago undergraduate thesis in women's studies, feminist criticism, gender studies, and/or sexuality studies. The prize honors Ruth Murray, a longtime Regenstein Library bibliographer who encouraged scholarship in gender and sexuality studies, and the committee may split the award when multiple entries merit recognition. College students submit applications electronically, and questions go to the Center for the Study of Gender and Sexuality student affairs staff. Submissions should reflect sustained scholarly work in gender or sexuality studies rather than a short course paper.
