About this scholarship
The Robert R. Chater Scholarship is an endowed ACC Foundation award funded by a bequest from Robert Chater, founder of Magnaloy Coupling in Alpena. Each year the fund supports multiple Alpena Community College students from Northeast Michigan who demonstrate financial need and maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average. Awards are applied through the college financial aid process after students complete admission and the ACC Foundation scholarship application. Recipients are selected by the ACC Scholarship Committee according to donor criteria established for the Chater fund.
