Open to students with a physical disability enrolled in a full-time graduate program at UBC Vancouver.
Two fellowships are offered annually: $17,500 for master's students and $25,000 for doctoral students. Awards are made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
The University of British Columbia established the fellowships to honour Rick Hansen (B.P.E. 1986, LL.D. 1987) and his 1987 Man in Motion world tour, which changed public attitudes and prospects for people with disabilities.
