About this scholarship

Undergraduate students at UBC Vancouver pursuing a degree in geological engineering who demonstrate strong leadership potential are eligible for this $2,650 award. In determining leadership potential, class participation and involvement in university and community organizations are taken into consideration. Preference is given to a student who graduated from high school in British Columbia.

There is no separate application. The award is made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Applied Science.

The award was endowed in memory of Richard S. Hallisey by his family and friends. Richard was a proud alumnus of the Faculty of Applied Science whose love of geology, coupled with his gift for finance, made him a powerful force in the global mining industry as co-founder of one of Canada's top independent brokerages.
