Outstanding UBC Vancouver varsity athletics student-athletes in any year of study are eligible.
One or more awards are offered, each with a minimum value of $500 up to the maximum allowable under athletic association guidelines. Candidates should demonstrate excellent leadership skills and financial need not met by other means. Preference is given to multi-sport athletes, those who have overcome financial, academic, physical, or other barriers, and those actively involved in community service.
Recipients are chosen on recommendation of the Department of Athletics and Recreation. There is no separate application.
The award honors Reginald Clarkson, who starred on UBC's 1945-46 Hall of Fame basketball team and led Thunderbird football to the 1945 Hardy Cup.
