About this scholarship

The Recovery Scholars Program at VCU provides a $500 per semester stipend to students in recovery from substance use disorders who are enrolled at a Virginia college or university. Scholars participate in a weekly seminar, maintain an active recovery plan, attend at least two community events per semester, and complete an application and orientation with program staff. Stipends credit to student accounts mid-semester or later and automatically renew until graduation for participants who continue meeting program requirements. Students in their first year of recovery may need recovery coaching to participate.
