A graduating UBC Okanagan student in the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies (BFA or BA) or in the Irving K. Barber Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (majoring in history, economics, philosophy, political science, anthropology, gender and women's studies, geography, or indigenous studies) with the highest academic average in their program may receive this prize.
The prize totals $12,150. It alternates between FCCS in odd-numbered years and FASS in even-numbered years. Enrolment Services adjudicates; no student application is required.
The prize was endowed by the estate of Robert Morrice Middleton (1931-2016), a UBC graduate and former Canadian ambassador.
