About this scholarship
National Merit finalists who designate the University of Iowa as their first-choice institution receive the Iowa Provost Scholarship automatically. National Hispanic Scholars who enroll at Iowa may also qualify under separate renewal standards.
The award provides $3,000 per year, renewable for up to four years or until a bachelor's degree is completed with continuous full-time enrollment and meeting National Merit Corporation renewal requirements.
No separate application is required for National Merit finalists who meet first-choice designation requirements.
The Office of Admissions awards merit scholarships to admitted first-year students entering the University of Iowa.
