About this scholarship
The President's Opportunity Promise Award enables qualifying Pell-eligible Ohio residents from Athens County and contiguous counties (Hocking, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton, and Washington) to attend Ohio University's Athens campus tuition-free for fall 2026. After Pell Grants and other federal, state, and institutional gift aid, the award covers remaining in-state tuition and mandatory fees. Applicants need a minimum 3.0 GPA, admission application by January 15, 2026, FAFSA received by January 15, and enrollment confirmation by May 1. Renewal requires annual FAFSA filing, 12 credit hours per semester, 3.0 cumulative GPA, and continued Pell eligibility.
