About this scholarship
The Phi Theta Kappa Award at UMBC provides up to $2,500 per year for two academic years to community college transfer students who demonstrate academic accomplishment and Phi Theta Kappa membership. Consideration begins at a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA from all colleges attended, and proof of PTK membership must be included with the transfer admission application. No separate scholarship form is required. PTK membership alone does not guarantee the award because selection depends on the competitiveness of the applicant pool. Recipients must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and meet enrollment requirements to renew.
