Graduate students in Forestry at UBC Vancouver are eligible for this scholarship, with preference for a student pursuing studies in forest policy. The $3,100 award was endowed by friends, family and colleagues in memory of Peter Nelson Affleck (1951-2006), B.S.F. 1975.

Known across Canada as a leader and advocate for forestry, Peter worked for MacMillan Bloedel and as an independent consultant before representing the industry through advocacy groups, serving as Vice-President of the Interior Lumber Manufacturers Association and Vice-President of Forestry with the Council of Forest Industries of B.C.
