Peter Harnetty Prize in Asian Studies

Open to undergraduate students at UBC Vancouver graduating with a major in Asian Studies. The prize goes to the student graduating with the highest marks in an Asian Studies major.

The annual prize is $2,500, awarded on the recommendation of the Department of Asian Studies; there is no student application.

The prize was endowed by UBC alumnus and Professor Emeritus Dr. Peter Harnetty in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Department of Asian Studies. Dr. Harnetty was one of the original faculty members when the department was established in 1961.
