The Peter F. Vallone Academic Scholarship rewards New York City high school graduates who demonstrated academic success in high school and enroll at a CUNY college. Eligible students may receive $700 per year ($350 per semester), though funding is set annually by the New York City Council and amounts may change. There is no separate application; students are automatically considered when they apply for CUNY admission. Recipients must maintain continuous full-time enrollment (12 credits), a cumulative 3.0 GPA calculated each spring, and NYC residency. Associate-degree students may receive the award for up to six semesters; bachelor’s-degree students for up to eight semesters. The award is not restored once lost.
