Percy W Nelms Memorial Scholarship

Students entering UBC Vancouver for the first time are eligible for this scholarship, with preference given to students resident in British Columbia north of the Peace River. One $450 scholarship is awarded, and the winner is selected by the University on the basis of academic ability, promise, and personal qualities.

The scholarship is a memorial to Percy W. Nelms, who lost his life in August 1961 while engaged in construction work in northern British Columbia before entering UBC as an undergraduate. It was endowed by his brother and sister-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. G. LeRoy Nelms, and his relations and friends.
