About this scholarship
For domestic high school graduates enrolling full-time at Lakehead University who model good citizenship in their high school and community. One renewable award goes to a student from an eligible Northwestern Ontario high school and one to a student from an eligible Simcoe County high school. Preference is given to students from groups historically underrepresented in post-secondary education.
Each award is valued at up to $15,000 ($3,750 per year for four years) and may be combined with a Lakehead Academic Entrance Scholarship up to free tuition. Recipients need a minimum 70% average in their top six Grade 12 U/M courses, OSAP eligibility with demonstrated financial need, Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status, and no prior post-secondary study. The award renews with a minimum 60% average and a full-time course load each year.
Eligible high schools nominate one student by mid-January. Nominated students submit a supplemental application by January 30.
