Full-time undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. students enrolled at an accredited U.S. university and pursuing chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical technology, or a related field may apply. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is required, along with demonstrated academic achievement, leadership, and school or community involvement. BOC Sciences awards one $1,000 scholarship annually. Submit the application form, recommendation letter, transcript, and an 800 to 1,000 word essay or 10 to 12 slide presentation on the assigned topic by October 31. Employees and relatives of BOC Sciences employees are ineligible.
U.S. citizens who are high school graduates or seniors enrolled in an approved skilled-trades program of two years or less at an accredited school may apply for mikeroweWORKS Work Ethic Scholarships. Qualifying fields include welding, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, construction, automotive, diesel, and related trades. Award amounts vary. The program grants scholarships four times per year. Sign the S.W.E.A.T. Pledge, answer four pledge-related questions, submit a personal video, two references, tuition verification, a transcript, and your most recent 1040 tax form. The program seeks hardworking people committed to skilled-trade careers.
High school seniors, undergraduate students, and graduate students with an interest in economics, especially the Austrian school tradition, may apply. You do not need to be an economics major. Awards are up to $2,500. A committee of professors, economists, and executives selects undergraduate and graduate winners based on understanding of economics and monetary policy.
Incoming and continuing full-time undergraduates at technical, two-year, or four-year institutions who are family members or employees of a herd on DHIA test, or family members of an employee of a DHIA affiliate whose affiliate is a National DHIA member, may apply for the National Dairy Herd Information Association Scholarship Program. National DHIA awards up to ten $1,000 scholarships annually. Selection weighs scholastic achievement, leadership, community activities, work experience, and knowledge of DHIA.
Legal residents of the United States or Canada may apply for Atlantic Salmon Federation Olin Fellowships to improve knowledge or skills in salmon-related fields addressing Atlantic salmon biology, management, and conservation. Applicants do not need to be enrolled in a degree program. Awards may support work at any accredited university, research laboratory, or active management program, including salmon management, graduate study, and research. U.S. legal residents in any state or the District of Columbia who are high school seniors, college students, or graduate students enrolled in a post-secondary institution for the upcoming fall, with a minimum 3.0 GPA, may apply for the Starfish Scholarship from Whetstone Perkins & Fulda LLC. Employees and immediate family of the firm are ineligible. The award is $1,000. Applicants submit a 750 to 1,000 word essay on social justice inspired by "The Star Thrower," a professional resume, and a transcript.
