Creative Economies Mini Grant for Artists

Individual West Virginia artists working across disciplines may apply for small project grants benefiting the local or creative community. Applicants must register as state vendors with a W-9 and complete electronic funds transfer setup before receiving payment.

Grants provide up to $1,000 for small arts projects. This is the only West Virginia individual-artist grant listed as currently open on the agency site as of July 2026; larger programs such as Arts Entrepreneurship ($5,000) and Folk Arts individual grants are marked not currently open.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through the GOapply grant portal while funds remain available.

The West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History administers state arts grants with support from the West Virginia Department of Tourism and the National Endowment for the Arts.
