About this scholarship
Emerging and mid-career artists, craftspeople, and eligible groups in the Northwest Territories may apply for small-scale arts project funding. Individual applicants must have lived in the NWT for at least six months before applying and reside in the territory at application time.
Grants range from $500 to $5,000 per project for creation, production, presentation, exhibition, training, and artistic development across disciplines including dance, film, visual arts, crafts, literary arts, music, and multidisciplinary work. Only one active Small Arts Project may be funded at a time.
Applications are accepted on a rolling first-come, first-served basis from April 1 through March 31 until the annual budget is exhausted. Submissions go to regional ITI offices with proof of NWT residency and work samples.
The NWT Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment funds this program as the territory's primary individual-artist grant stream.
