About this scholarship

Underserved young people ages 17 to 29 in the Washington, DC metropolitan region who have a high school diploma or GED, household income at or below 80% of area median income, and are pursuing an associate degree or professional certification in a New Futures Career Pathway (IT, Education, Hospitality & Culinary Arts, Health Sciences, Construction & Trades, Public Service, or Business) may apply for the New Futures Scholars Program.

Up to $7,800 in scholarship funding per recipient may cover tuition, transportation, technology, and other education-related expenses. Support also includes academic advising and career coaching.

Complete the online application with proof of high school completion or GED, income and residency documentation, and a description of your Career Pathway and goals. Finalists participate in an interview.

New Futures helps scholars move through certifications and community college degrees into careers across the DC region.
