About this scholarship
U.S. citizen college students pursuing an education in piano or voice may apply for the Daughters of the American Revolution Nellie Love Butcher Music Scholarship.
One male and one female student are selected annually, each for an award of up to $5,000 for one year. Recipients may reapply for up to four years while maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA. Special consideration goes to students at the Duke Ellington School of the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

- Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
- Be a music student pursuing piano or voice (preference for students attending Duke Ellington School of the Performing Arts, Washington, DC)
- Submit performance material as an mp3 file (per nelliebutcher.pdf instructions)

- Between two and four letters of recommendation, uploaded into the application
- List of extra-curricular activities, honors, and scholastic achievements (one side of an 8.5x11 page)
