The NATA Foundation's Professional Level Scholarship awards $2,300 to students currently enrolled in a CAATE-accredited professional athletic training program (master's-level programs) in their first or second year of study. Between 50 and 75 scholarships are awarded each year across the Professional and Post-Professional levels, funded by the foundation's endowment and corporate and individual donors; the program has awarded more than $4.5 million since inception.
Applicants must be enrolled in a CAATE-accredited professional program as of the application deadline, have a cumulative overall GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, and be current members of the National Athletic Trainers' Association. The application includes essay questions, transcripts, and a recommendation completed by a BOC-certified athletic trainer.
For the 2027 award cycle, applications open November 15, 2026 and are due January 15, 2027, with recipients announced in spring.
