About this scholarship

MSSA members enrolled in an accredited nonprofit program leading to a degree in a health and human service-related field (such as social work, psychology, counseling, healthcare administration, or related majors) may apply for Minnesota Social Service Association scholarships. Student membership is free. Preference goes to applicants planning to work in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota, or North Dakota.

Awards are $5,000 across Undergraduate, Graduate, and Diversity categories. About 25 scholarships are offered. Undergraduates must be incoming in the award year with at least two semesters left and a declared related major; graduate applicants must have applied to or been accepted into an accredited graduate program for that fall. Recipients submit verification of full-time fall enrollment.

Applicants may apply to multiple categories if eligible. The program aims to build a qualified health and human services workforce in Minnesota and the greater Midwest.
