About this scholarship
The Meinig Family Cornell National Scholars program is one of three Cornell Commitment programs recognizing outstanding entering freshmen who demonstrate leadership, academic excellence, and community service. About 50 entering freshmen are selected each year from across all Cornell colleges and schools, representing less than two percent of undergraduates. Students are considered during the admissions process with no separate application required. Meinig Scholars with demonstrated financial need receive up to $4,000 per year in additional grant aid that reduces loans or work-study. Scholars also access up to $3,500 over their Cornell career through the Leadership Support Account for summer internships and experiential leadership opportunities, plus CCO Empowerment Funds for aligned activities.
