About this scholarship
For outstanding M.Sc. or Ph.D. students in the UBC Vancouver Department of Statistics who have demonstrated excellence in the development and application of statistical methodology.
Prizes of $1,000 each are offered annually through the Department of Statistics Fund for Excellence, in honour of Professor Albert Marshall.
Made on the recommendation of the Department of Statistics. No separate student application.
Professor Marshall joined UBC in 1975, helped establish the Department of Statistics in 1984, and co-authored the classic textbook Inequalities: Theory of Majorization and Its Application with Ingram Olkin.
