Lynda Hamilton endowed the awards in memory of Marilyn Pomfret (1932-2019). Marilyn (B.P.E. 1954) served as UBC Women's Athletic Director and coached the women's volleyball team to three Western Canadian championships and two CIS titles, including UBC's first in women's volleyball.
