About this scholarship

Outstanding members of the Thunderbirds Women's Rugby team at UBC Vancouver, in any year of study, may be considered.

One or more awards are offered, ranging from a minimum of $500 each up to the maximum allowable under athletic association regulations.

There is no separate application. Awards are made on the recommendation of the Head Coach, with review and approval by the Athletics Awards Committee.

The endowment was established by supporters of the team in honour of Maria Gallo, celebrating her outstanding commitment to rugby and her many triumphs on the international stage representing Canada as a player and a coach.
