About this scholarship
KFM Making a Difference, the nonprofit founded by autistic speaker and author Dr. Kerry Magro, awards this scholarship to students with an autism diagnosis. High school students with autism attending a post-secondary program in the upcoming academic year may apply, as may current college, graduate, and doctoral students with autism enrolled during that year. There are no geographic restrictions.
The winning applicant receives $500 toward post-secondary education expenses; the organization has awarded more than 160 scholarships to autistic students over the past decade.
Applicants email a cover letter with a short bio, proof of college acceptance or enrollment, and autism diagnosis details, plus a resume, one reference letter, photos, and an original 750-1,000 word essay about growing up on the autism spectrum. The spring 2026 deadline was April 28; the scholarship is offered annually.
