About this scholarship
The Loyal Scholar award is an automatic merit scholarship for Iowa resident first-year students admitted to Iowa State University who meet rigorous high school academic benchmarks. Recipients must have a minimum 3.80 cumulative high school GPA paired with a 32 ACT or 1450 SAT score. Students apply only for admission; no separate scholarship application is required. Awards are not stackable with other Office of Admissions merit scholarships, and students receiving full-tuition awards such as National Merit or George Washington Carver scholarships are ineligible. The scholarship renews for four years with continuous full-time enrollment of at least 12 credits, resident tuition status, and a minimum 2.50 cumulative ISU GPA.
