Women-identifying students and students of color entering college as full-time undergraduate music majors who intend to pursue a degree in music composition may apply for Lift Up Our Voices' Founders Scholarship.
One $3,500 award is given annually to increase representation in music composition. Applicants need a minimum 3.0 high school GPA and demonstrated talent in composition.
Submit up to two representative musical works, a short biography, a statement of your goals in music composition, two letters of recommendation (at least one from a music teacher), and an optional resume. A panel of music and composition experts selects the winner.

Funded activity must occur between the first of the month after the award and June 30 of the state fiscal year. The Alaska State Council on the Arts administers this standing quarterly grant for individual artists and arts administrators.
