About this scholarship

The LGBTQ+ Community Engagement Award honors University of Chicago undergraduate or graduate students in good academic standing who make exceptional contributions advancing and supporting LGBTQ+ community interests on or beyond campus. Sponsored by UChicago Alumni Pride and the Center for the Study of Gender and Sexuality, the award includes a $500 prize and the opportunity to introduce the invited OUTstanding Speaker Series lecturer the following year. Recipients are selected annually for sustained community engagement rather than a single short-term project, and the award is announced through the College Honors and Awards process.
