Lawrence R. Munroe Memorial Scholarship in Community and Regional Planning

For outstanding Canadian citizens in UBC's School of Community and Regional Planning who majored in or received an undergraduate degree in geography or civil engineering from UBC or the University of Victoria. Preference is given to students who have demonstrated an interest in urban design focused on creating and retaining green space and enhancing the beauty of cities or urban areas.

A $5,100 endowed scholarship is available. It is made on the recommendation of SCARP in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. Apply through SCARP's internal awards process when applications open.

Diana L. Belhouse (BA 1947, LLB 1973) established the endowment to honour her husband, Lawrence R. Munroe, P.Eng. (BASc Civil Engineering 1946), who worked in Vancouver planning until his death in 1970.
