Lawrence Edward Hassell Graduate Field Research Award in Fisheries

A graduate student in fisheries at UBC Vancouver engaged in field research pertaining to sustainability may be considered. Preference goes to research focused on the sustainability of the salmon ecosystem.

The award is $2,900, endowed by Hassell Construction Ltd on behalf of the Hassell family in honour of Lawrence Edward Hassell, an avid fisherman concerned about salmon stock depletion. It is made on the recommendation of the Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. There is no separate student application.
