Laura Huber Memorial Award for Women in Video Gaming

For a third- or fourth-year female student enrolled in an undergraduate Computer Science degree program at UBC Vancouver who has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, an interest in pursuing a career in the gaming industry, and excellence in video game programming through a course or portfolio.

A $10,000 award is offered annually through a gift from Electronic Arts, in memory of Laura Huber (1967-2015).

Made on the recommendation of the Department of Computer Science. Apply through the department awards application when open.

Laura served as an art director and designer for Game Developer and Gamasutra. The award recognizes her desire to encourage women entering the gaming industry.
