Alberta post-secondary students enrolled full-time in the final two years of a recognized Alberta teacher preparation program, taking courses that will allow them to teach languages other than English (including Indigenous languages) in Alberta schools. Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons, Alberta residents, and must have attended fall and winter terms in the previous academic year. An applicant may receive this scholarship only once.
Sixteen one-time scholarships of $2,500 each. Selection favours students preparing to become language teachers who demonstrate academic excellence; language diversity is also considered.
Apply to Alberta Student Aid between August 1 and October 31 with a completed application form and an official post-secondary transcript.
