About this scholarship

The Laker Scholarship provides automatic merit support to incoming Grand Valley State University freshmen admitted by March 1 who hold at least a 3.3 high school cumulative GPA. Michigan residents receive $1,000 per year; non-Michigan residents receive $1,000 plus the out-of-state tuition differential. Recipients must enroll full time, maintain satisfactory academic progress, and may renew for three additional years. The award cannot be combined with Award for Excellence, Faculty, or Presidential scholarships. Students are reviewed automatically based on information in their admission application; filing a FAFSA is strongly encouraged for maximum aid consideration.
