About this scholarship
La Unidad Latina Foundation awards its National Scholarship to first-generation Latino undergraduate and graduate students. Seven awards of $500 to $2,000 are made each year on a competitive basis; two of the seven are reserved for students with permanent residence in New York State, regardless of where they attend college in the U.S.
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA, be enrolled full-time in a bachelor's program at an accredited four-year college or university (community college graduates transferring to a four-year college are also eligible) or in an eligible master's or doctoral program, have completed at least one full semester of full-time study, and reside in the United States.
The application includes transcripts and a recommendation letter demonstrating leadership and civic service. Applications typically open in spring and close September 1.
