About this scholarship

For UBC Vancouver undergraduates in the Department of Cellular and Physiological Sciences who perform outstanding work in the laboratory courses leading to graduation in Honours Cellular, Anatomical and Physiological Sciences (CAPS). Preference is given to students who demonstrate financial need and leadership among their peers.

The prize is $2,250. It is awarded on department recommendation, with no separate student application.

The prize honours Kurt Henze, a Supervisory Technician in the department whose family, friends, and colleagues established the endowment. Henze immigrated to Canada in 1952 and was devoted to supporting medical research and encouraging students to excel.
